About Us

Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation attracts and manages personally-named charitable funds for local companies, families and individuals. We give grants from donor funds to local, often "unsung unseen" charities and voluntary groups, and deliver national grants programmes locally. We are one of 46 accredited UK Community Foundations, supported by/supporting UKCF.

Experience working in a donor-oriented role for a charity is ideal, but if your skills genuinely match our needs, we will consider applicants nearer the start of their careers, or transferring from other client-facing administrative backgrounds. Salary will be commensurate with experience. If you are invited to interview, there will be a test of your written English and database proficiency.

This is an administrative and organisational role which requires creativity and "people skills".

You will be part of a small, busy, friendly and capable team, and you will support the CEO by ensuring effective organisation in relation to donor satisfaction, our reputation and our profile.

You'll be familiar with data management, and very accomplished in office IT to help manage our range of donor funds. You will co-ordinate several donor-facing events per year.

You'll have direct contact with donors, stakeholders, charitable groups, and Community Foundations nationally where appropriate, so you will enjoy developing working relationships with others.

You'll need good knowledge of GDPR and of charitable operation. You must be able to write and edit excellent English because you will help co-ordinate our written output, from formal donor reports and minutes to our website and social media. Design skills would be a real bonus.

We are a small charity so you will need to make the most of very tight resources, manage both mundane and high-level tasks, and take a constructive calm approach to problem-solving and time pressure. You certainly won't be "a cog in a machine" and will have opportunities to work across a variety of projects and spheres.

Please send an e-mail attaching your CV and a covering letter of no more than two pages, outlining how your experience and skills fit the role. We are a small charity, so while we will consider each application carefully and in line with our Equal Opportunities Policy, it's not possible for us to respond personally to everyone; if you have not heard from us within 3 weeks, your application hasn't been successful this time. Application deadline: Saturday 16th February. Interviews held WEDNESDAY 27th FEB. No agencies please.
