Sport Birmingham are recruiting a team of community mentors to help support and develop session leaders and volunteers delivering Satellite Clubs and other projects across Birmingham. By committing to working with volunteers, coaches and leaders the mentors will help to get the very best from those working with inactive young people on our programmes. If you think you have the knowledge, time and a friendly face to help guide and mentor local leaders and volunteers then this could be for you!

About SB Community Mentors x 8

Main Responsibilities -

  • Meet with pre-identified coaches / leaders within Birmingham to guide them through specific or general development requirements linked to their role
  • Understand motivations and ambitions of coaches / leaders to help create a clear pathway to progress their learning and achieve personal goals
  • Maintain appropriate progress records of meetings / sessions with mentees
  • Adopt a flexible approach to the needs of the individual
  • Provide guidance for coaches / leaders on further training and wider opportunities
  • Attend a short mentoring briefing session and a half-day training session
  • Provide information to support with the evaluation of the programme as determined by Sport Birmingham
