We have a unique full time (40 hours per week) Sports Development Coach position available in our Quest “Excellent” rated (2010– 2020) Health and Wellbeing Development Team. This is a varied and exciting role which combines working on two the national award-winning programmes. This post will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the community-based Northampton Street Sports Programmes and leisure centre based Junior Active Programme.

About Sports Development Coach

Northampton Leisure Trust currently operates seven leisure facilities an independent cinema and a Health and Wellbeing Development Team under the Trilogy brand in partnership with West Northamptonshire Unitary Council and Duston Parish Council. Northampton Leisure Trust provides sport (and development), leisure, play and cultural cinema opportunities for the communities of Northampton and its surrounding areas with the aim of Inspiring Active Lifestyles.

We have a unique full time (40 hours per week) Sports Development Coach position available in our Quest "Excellent" rated (2010– 2020) Health and Wellbeing Development Team.

This is a varied and exciting role which combines working on two the national award-winning programmes. This post will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the community-based Northampton Street Sports Programmes and leisure centre based Junior Active Programme

The successful candidate will be required to plan and deliver first class sport and physical activity sessions for children and young people, from under 5s to teenagers, in our leisure facilities and out in the local community. The post holder will also be required to reflect on all sessions they deliver and produce plans and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement and development.

Furthermore, the post holder will be required to support the development of partnership working within the local community.

The type of person suitable for this role will have (please note that some areas are essential whilst some are desirable):

- At least one recognised level two sports coaching qualification or equivalent (E.G. 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Multi Skills Development in Sport, FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football etc.) (Essential)

- Hold a valid and up to date first aid certificate (Emergency First Aid at Work/First Aid at Work) (Desirable)

- Child Protection/Safeguarding knowledge (Essential)

- Full, clean driving license and access to car (Essential)

- Willingness to undertake a DBS check (Essential)

You would have had previous experience of planning and delivering high quality sport and physical activity sessions in schools, leisure centres, local community sports clubs and the local community.

We are looking for a well organised individual with excellent customer care skills who can work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

This is a full time role (40 hours per week), and includes regular early evenings and some weekends and is subject to a satisfactory DBS check being undertaken.
