To achieve this we are recruiting an innovative Active Communities (AC) Manager to lead the Service across the Derbyshire Dales area. The job is highly rewarding and varied and plays a crucial part in our Organisation.

The AC Manager should have experience within the field, managing teams, projects and successful partnerships and they will have a commitment to improving the health & wellbeing of local people. The role will receive support from the site teams and managers, our Central Services teams, the local Council Sport & Health Team and the role will be part of our wider Active Communities Service across the country.

The AC Manager will be the point of contact for all sites, partners and groups to develop a diverse Active Communities offering. If you are interested in the job you would lead on the Local Development Plan to increase opportunities for people to get more active, improve their wellbeing and motivation, contributing to achieving the key outcomes of Sport England, Derbyshire Dales District Council and Active Derbyshire. You would work with local teams and networks to maximise collaborative opportunities to develop even more programmes for local communities.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, self-motivated and able to work with a wide range of people and groups. As this is a high-profile role all the work is evidenced and the impact of our programmes is widely known and recognised. Importantly you will be responsible for attracting external funding to the contract and have experience of financial accountability.

The role requires you to have a valid driving licence and access to a car, as you will be required to travel across Derbyshire Dales and occasionally to other locations across the country.

Hours: 37hrs a week, Monday to Friday – Managers will need to be flexible, as the role may include work at weekends/ out of office/evenings as required.
