Funding is available for registered charities and smaller voluntary organisations benefiting people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire through the Boots Charitable Trust.
The independent registered charity wholly funded by Boots UK has, to date, donated over £10 million to charities across the city and county. The Trust also helps smaller voluntary organisations in Nottinghamshire which are too small to qualify for charitable status but who still desperately need financial support for their projects.
On average the Trust gives about 50 grants per year, ranging from £100 to £10,000, although applications for larger amounts will be considered.
While the Trust looks at nominations from all kinds of different charities, its main focus is on the following areas:
- Health - Both community healthcare such as homecare or support for sufferers of medical conditions as well as health education and prevention
- Lifelong Learning - For example literacy and numeracy projects
- Community Development - Such as supporting councils in providing voluntary services
- Social Care - Be it personal, social or community activities or schemes
